Technical Check & Support
The technical check is an allotted time to hand your presentation over to onsite technicians, ensure it is working as expected and discuss any extra technical requirements you have pre-arranged.
When is the technical check?
Your technical check time will be confirmed by the Content Operations team. It is also displayed on the Speaker Portal. The Technical Check will take place the day before your talk (unless otherwise advised). It is a chance to verify your presentation works as expected and lasts between 30 minutes to one hour.
Who attends?
All speakers should attend. If a speaker cannot attend, someone can on their behalf, however, this person must be briefed and knowledgeable of the presentation. The final version of the presentation must be handed over during this time. If you don’t have a presentation, let the Content Operations team know in advance and they can arrange to take a holding slide from you instead.
What happens on the day of the technical check?
Please arrive at the Speakers' Lounge 15 minutes before the technical check is due to start, you will be escorted to the tech check from here.
If you have a demo, on-stage props, or any complex technical requirements you may require at your onstage rehearsal, please make the Content Operations team aware.
If you are coordinating a talk on behalf of a speaker(s), it is vital that speakers are fully briefed on their technical check time as early as possible. It is your responsibility to make sure speakers arrive on time.
Technical Support
We are heavily invested in the production of your talk being seamless and to the highest standard. Please make sure you read and fill out the 'Technical Survey' tab on the Speaker Portal in full so we can understand all aspects of your talk. Whether it’s straightforward or more complex – we need to know! We are always excited by the vision of our speakers and strongly encourage fun, interactive elements happening on stage. Please ensure that all technical requirements are fully communicated with the Content Operations team so that we can work together to bring your vision to life.
If you are having something delivered as part of your talk, please ensure the Content Operations team is aware and it arrives at the Palais between the 14-16 June 2023.
What might be considered a complex session?
This could include audience participation, a musical performance, live demos, props, or any other additional equipment on stage. Previous complex talks include a 10-piece orchestra on stage (Mastercard), musical performances (P&G, Eventbrite), live puppets (Sesame Street), racing car on stage (Formula 1), use of gobo lighting (Getty Images), artist performances (M&C SAATCHI), robot demos (R/GA), an interactive football pitch (We Are Social) and more.
If you require an onstage rehearsal (for technically demanding talks only) please let us know in advance so that we can arrange this.
Details of the AV Package provided will be shared with you and is also available on the Speaker Portal. For anything extra, you must let us know - this will come at the cost of the talk host.
