What is Cannes Lions?
Established in 1954, The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has become the definitive meeting place for the global creative community to collaborate, partner & celebrate creativity that drives progress. The work, creative companies, brands, networks and countries that win Lions are given a worldwide platform.
The Lions are the world’s most respected benchmark for creative excellence. Creative companies from over 87 countries entered 25,464 pieces of work across 29 Lions last year. The work is judged by world-class members of the creative community from over 50 countries.
The Lions
Cannes Lions has always been developed in partnership with the creative communications community. For our Awards Team, it is a year-round process of understanding and researching how the industry is evolving, how it is adapting to challenges and opportunities and preparing for the future, ensuring that there’s a place for every type of creative work to shine. For 2023, our 30 specialist Lions celebrate the breadth of disciplines across the global branded communications industry. You can find detailed information on our Lions in Entry Kit 1.
The Judging Process
Enormous consideration is given to who will judge the work and how. The high calibre of our Juries is matched by the high standards that we hold them to and the rigorous processes they undertake. This is what sets Cannes Lions apart and ensures it continues to be the most respected creative accolade.
