Timeline
Welcome to this step-by-step guide to entering the Cannes Lions Awards. Here, you'll find everything you’ll need to know when submitting your work. It covers how to select your categories and craft your entry, right through to what happens in Cannes during the Festival. If, after reading it, you have any questions, our dedicated Awards team is on hand to help. You can get in touch by emailing awards@canneslions.com.
Awards open for entry
Awards are open for entry. To be eligible, your work must have run between 11 February 2023 - 11 April 2024. To avoid late fees, submit your entries before 7 March 2024. Check out our dates and fees page to find out more.

The first step for entering your work is determining (a) if it’s eligible and (b) where you can submit. This means getting to know the Rules and Eligibility, which can be found in Entry Kit 2.
We have a range of helpful resources available to help with crafting your entry, from interviews with former Jurors to examples of winning work.

Once you feel confident with your category selection, consider how to tell the story of your entry. The entry itself can be broken down into two main elements: the written explanation and the supporting material.
You’ll need to add all your material to the entry system. You can't make any more changes once you've clicked "Checkout", so please only do so when your entry is 100% complete. If you’re unsure, get in touch with the Awards team.

To avoid late fees, submit your work before 7 March 2024. The final deadline is 11 April 2024.
After you check out your entry, our Awards team reviews each piece of work multiple times before we send it to the Jury. If there are any issues, a member of the team will be in touch.

Additional information
Remember to add the names of the individuals involved in the work in the Creative Credits section. You can update this up to, and including, 4 July 2024.
You'll also be able to add any information about any sustainability efforts or initiatives that are centred on the representation of the team involved. For the first time in 2024, you’ll be able to opt in to share this information with the Jury for judging purposes.
The first stage of judging involves examining each piece of work to establish a shortlist.
Once the shortlist has been established, each Jury, guided by their Jury President, reviews and debates it before voting on which work should be awarded a Bronze, Silver or Gold Lion and, finally, the Grand Prix.
