Timeline

Throughout the event cycle timeline, speakers and talk hosts will be in communication with the Content Team. The Content team is made up of Content Managers and Speaker Operations. We work very closely together to ensure speakers receive our full support.

Content Managers handle the editorial side of the talk and approve the final content.

01

YOUR SUBMISSION HAS BEEN PUT ‘ON HOLD’ (OFFERED A SLOT)

A conditional offer has been made by a member of the Cannes Lions Content team. As soon as your talk is placed ‘on hold’, upload your speaker bios, photos, synopsis, thumbnails onto the Speaker Portal.

03

YOUR TALK IS ANNOUNCED
The status of your talk is ‘published’. We will announce speakers at the relevant section of canneslions.com and in marketing communications.

02

YOU'VE BEEN CONFIRMED
You have met the conditions of the ‘on hold’ offer and your submission has been accepted. The content of your talk and speakers have been confirmed and relevant visual assets have also been received. You will now be connected with a member of the Speaker Operations team to begin production.

Speaker Operations manage the production and operational elements of the talk. Click here to get in touch with the team.

04

BEGIN PRODUCTION
There are now certain logistical steps that are imperative to ensure your experience onsite and talk runs smoothly. A member of the Speaker Operations team will help guide you through this.

05

REGISTERING FOR A PASS AND SECURING ACCOMODATION
To secure accommodation, you must have a Festival Pass. All confirmed speakers receive a complimentary two-day Speaker Pass to the Festival, giving them access to the Palais on the day of their talk and the day prior (for a technical check). There is also the option to upgrade to a “Speaker Complete Pass” for full week access at a discounted rate (€1725 + TVA). Hosts are responsible for paying for their own hotel. The later you book accommodation, the fewer options there will be. Our team will try to help you find suitable accommodation right up until the event.

06

COMPLETE YOUR TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
You must complete your technical requirements on the Speaker Portal. The Festival provides a standard AV package. Should you require materials outside of this (e.g. for a demo) the Speaker Operations team need to be informed in advance and the cost must be covered by the talk host.

07

MARKETING AND PROMO
Speaker promo is an essential element of your talk. We can never guarantee bums on seats no matter how good the content is and therefore encourage you to engage heavily in creating and utilising promotional assets. The ‘promotional assets’ tab of the Speaker Portal has detailed information and provides ideas on how you can do this.

08

VIPs, CARS, REQUESTS ETC.
Let the Speaker Operations team know of any on site or VIP requests (e.g. arrival of cars, green rooms for Lumiere or Debussy talks, etc.)

09
